Dear LDA Michigan Membership,
As we approach the end of 2020, we would like to extend a huge thank you to each of our members for helping to make this year a success despite the extraordinary circumstances and complications that have come amidst the global pandemic. This is a critical time for our organization and especially for our families affected by specific learning disorders – as the online/virtual learning has created many new challenges for our students and professionals alike. We foresee a path ahead that will require a more visible presence as we work hard to support our students, colleagues, and families with a smooth return to in-person learning/working and to continue to ensure ongoing access to accommodations and supports.
This year was meant to be a “comeback” year for the LDA of Michigan, with a return to hosting an annual conference after nearly a decade away. While we were unable to host a full conference, we have had a great deal of success and participation in our webinars – which we plan to keep rolling out as 2021 begins. Thank YOU for your engagement in our learning activities and for your ongoing support through social media platforms, donations, and information dissemination! We NEED you. We are so grateful to be a part of this community and to be able to step up and offer help during this very difficult time. We are hard at work planning (hopefully!) a 2021 Fall Conference in addition to continuing webinars. Please feel free to send us ideas that you may have for speakers, webinars, or issues at ldaofmichigan@gmail.com.
As the year draws to an end, the LDA of Michigan board would like to again say thank you for your efforts and that we look forward to working with you and supporting you to face the challenges of 2021.
